Microsoft Pix Now Integrates with LinkedIn

Posted March 9, 2018 | iOS | Microsoft Pix | Mobile | Windows

Microsoft’s AI-powered camera app for iPhone, Pix, was just updated to support LinkedIn when you scan in business cards.

“The new Business Card feature makes it easy and quick for you to add contacts, not only to your phone’s address book but also to your LinkedIn account,” a Microsoft representative told me. “To use, simply open Pix and point your iPhone at a contact’s business card. Microsoft Pix will automatically detect the information and after prompting the user, captures all relevant information. These contact details are then available in your iOS Contacts as well as in your LinkedIn profile.”

Microsoft launched Pix for iPhone back in July 2016: The initial version of the app was designed as a replacement for the stock iPhone camera app, and it offered various improvements over that app, including automatic smart settings, face recognition, moment capture, and multi-image capture with automatic best image selection.

A year later, Pix was updated with cool, Prisma-like painting effects. And thena September 2017 update was the first to include AI smarts, with automatic detection of whiteboards, documents, and business cards in real time.

This week’s update obviously builds on that last feature, and the LinkedIn integration provides yet another bit of seamless integration between Microsoft’s products and services.

You can download Microsoft Pix for free from the Apple App Store. You can also learn more about the app at the Microsoft Pix website.
