Android developers looking to take their skills to the next level will want to check out the free Advanced Android with Kotlin class that was announced today at the Android Developer Summit. This is a follow-up to the Kotlin Bootcamp Udacity course that the companies launched last year.

“Advanced Android with Kotlin makes advanced mobile development even more accessible to everyone, and we’ve again worked directly with the Kotlin experts at Google to ensure you’re learning the very latest Kotlin skills when building advanced apps,” Udacity’s David Harris says. “This course teaches you how to add a range of advanced features to your app, starting with best practices for using Android’s notification system.”

As you may know, Kotlin is now Google’s preferred programming language for Android application development, replacing Java.

Udacity also notes that this new free course is part of its School of Programming, a set of free courses and Nanodegree programs designed by and for mobile and web developers. The firm has free courses for front-end, back-end, and mobile development using languages like Java, C++, and React. I’ve taken several Udacity courses and highly recommend this resource.
