Google’s YouTube mobile app usually adds support for new products soon after they’ve been released, but when it comes to Apple devices, we could say that there’s definitely room for improvement.

About a month has passed since the iPhone 11 series made its debut on the market, and the YouTube app has finally been updated with HDR support for these specific devices. MacRumors reports that the most recent YouTube app update brings HDR support for iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, even though there’s no mention of it in the changelog.

Multiple HDR options should be available for iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max users after the update, which can be found by pressing the three dots on the top right of a video you’re watching.

Keep in mind that the iPhone 11 does not feature HDR support on YouTube since it doesn’t sport an OLED display, and the same goes for the iPhone XR. However, most of Apple iPhones released after 2017 should be compatible with YouTube’s HDR feature.
