LG’s V40 flagship smartphone has already been updated to Android 9.0 Pie in the United States, so those who bought it are now looking forward to another major update, Android 10. Realistically speaking, there’s little chance that the unlocked LG V40 ThinQ will receive an Android 10 update this year, let alone the carrier-bounded models.But that doesn’t mean that the phone won’t get rather important updates, apart from the upcoming Android 10 update. Verizon is now rolling out such an update that brings two important new features: screen recording and secure power-off.

The official changelog published by Verizon mentions both new features come alongside August security patch, which is rather odd. In any case, with the latest update, you’ll be able to record the phone’s screen to show what you do on it.

Also, when the phone is locked, unlocking is required to power off. The new security feature helps prevent someone from powering off the phone when it’s lost or stolen. The LG V40 ThinQ update is delivered OTA (over the air) in stages, so you’ll be notified when it’s available for download.
