Confirming recent rumors, Samsung today officially unveiled the Galaxy S10 Lite and Note10 Lite. As their names suggest, these are more affordable versions of Samsung’s flagship smartphones.

“The Galaxy S and Galaxy Note devices have met consumer wants and demands around the world,” Samsung president and CEO DJ Koh said in a prepared statement. “These devices represent our continuous effort to deliver industry-leading innovations, from performance and power to intelligence and services. The Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy Note10 Lite will introduce those distinct key premium features that make up a Galaxy S and Galaxy Note experience.”

According to Samsung, the Galaxy Lite lineup will bring the firm’s camera technologies—which are hardly industry-leading, as Samsung claims—to more widely accessible—i.e. more affordable—devices. The Galaxy S10 Lite provides a 48 MP main wide-angle lens, a 12 MP 123-degree ultra-wide lens, and a 5 MP macro lens, and it adds what Samsung calls “Super Steady OIS” (optical image stabilization).

Meanwhile, the Note 10 Lite brings a 12 MP wide-angle lens with dual pixels, a 12 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 12 MP telephoto lens with OIS. It also includes the Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE)-based S Pen to a more affordable device, as expected.

Both devices provide edge-to-edge Infinity-O 6.7-inch displays at 2400 × 1080 (394 ppi), large 4,500mAh batteries with super-fast charging capabilities, and Samsung’s ecosystem of crapware, including Bixby, Samsung Pay and Samsung Health.

The Galaxy S10 Lite is available in Prism White, Prism Black and Prism Blue, and the Galaxy Note10 Lite is available in Aura Glow, Aura Black and Aura Red. Pricing has not yet been announced, and that seems like the primary interest here, making that an odd omission.
