Last month, we passed along some specs and images of the Oppo Reno 2. The phone had been certified by China’s version of the FCC, TENAA. Earlier this year, Oppo had released two versions of the phone, a mid-range model and a premium variant with 10x lossless zoom. Both come with a retractable “wedge” that houses the front-facing selfie camera. As it turns out, the TENAA certification covers the sequel for the mid-range unit that features a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with a 1080x 2400 resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The Snapdragon 730 SoC will be under the hood along with 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage. The phone carries a dual-camera setup on the back (48MP + 5MP depth sensor), 20x zoom (2x optical) and the “wedge” is home to a 16MP selfie snapper. Keeping the lights on is a 3765mAh capacity battery.

Now if the Reno is getting a sequel, obviously the Reno 10x Zoom model should be too. And sure enough, we turn once again to TENAA (via Android Authority) as the Chinese regulatory agency has given the sequel to the premium Reno model its rubber stamp of approval. With a model number of PCKM70, the Oppo Reno 2 5G will support the next generation of wireless connectivity. It features a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. There is a triple-camera setup on the back with one of the sensors being a square periscope lens that could help support a higher quality optical zoom. The phone is equipped, according to TENAA, with a 3930mAh capacity battery. The fact that the phone has been certified by TENAA is usually indicative of its imminent unveiling.
