UPDATE, July 12: While there are no new Prime-exclusive deals to shop for right now, Google, Nokia, and Mobvoi have been quick to tip their hands, revealing every single discount  coming at midnight PT on July 15. Here’s the list in full:

Created all the way back in 2005, Amazon Prime exceeded 100 million US members earlier this year, surging from a subscriber base of “only” 54 million people in 2016. While there are many benefits to signing up for this incredibly popular program, from unlimited two-day shipping to same-day and 2-hour delivery on millions of items in select areas, the 2015 inauguration of Prime Day has undoubtedly played a crucial role in driving those numbers up.

Essentially envisioned as an Amazon Prime-exclusive Black Friday in July type of event, the festival of deals is at its fifth edition this year, expanding for the first time to a full 48 hours and covering more digital ground than ever, from the US to the UK, Spain, Singapore, Netherlands, Mexico, Luxembourg, Japan, Italy, India, Germany, France, China, Canada, Belgium, Austria, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates

Save the dates, set your (Alexa-powered) alarm clocks, and get ready to shop

Stateside, Prime Day 2019 is scheduled to kick off at midnight PT on Monday, July 15, running through the end of Tuesday and including more than one million, yes, a million deals around the world. To make sure you won’t miss anything big or waste precious time trying to figure out how you can claim these special offers on July 15 and 16, you should first and foremost check the validity of your Amazon Prime membership.

If you don’t have one, you can start a 30-day free trial right now and cancel the subscription before ever being billed. If you want to stick with it, you can pay $12.99 a month or $119 a year and receive a long list of perks and benefits, including Prime Video access, unlimited music streaming, unlimited photo storage, unlimited reading, and the aforementioned shipping freebies.

Next, you should probably download the free Amazon app to preview and shop deals directly on your phone, set an Alexa reminder for the beginning of the festivities, and tap “Watch this deal” on items you’re interested in to get alerts when (and if) they’re discounted.

What exactly can we expect here?

In short, a lot. While many of the million+ global deals in Amazon’s pipeline will probably cover categories like clothing, jewelry, books, movies, food, beauty, toys, and sports, which aren’t exactly our areas of interest here at PhoneArena, we absolutely expect to see plenty of large discounts offered for popular smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, smart home devices, and other interesting gadgets.
