Microsoft has already revealed the technical aspects of its next-generation Xbox console. Today, it’s revealing some new details, giving us our first look at the Xbox Series X boot animation and sound, which you can see on the video above.

Xbox Series X is expected to be released later this year, but with the current world situations, Microsoft’s plans have changed. The company was originally expected to reveal games for the Xbox Series X at E3, but with the event cancelled due to the coronavirus, Microsoft is now going to do something completely new. The company today announced Xbox 20/20, a new monthly event that will be used to showcase “what’s next in the world of Xbox.”

Microsoft said in a blog post that the company remains focused at launching Xbox Series X and Halo Infinite this Holiday. The first Xbox 20/20 event, which is taking place on the 7th of May, will show off games for the Xbox Series X. This includes gameplay, trailers, and sneak peeks at some of the games coming to the Xbox Series X. Microsoft says the company will confirm what games will be using its new Smart Delivery feature at the event.

In June, Microsoft will highlight updates to the Xbox platform and services. And in July, the company will highlight new games from its own Xbox Game Studios.

In a separate interview with Bloomberg, Xbox chief Phil Spencer also noted that the company will not be delaying the Xbox Series X launch in the case where a game gets delayed. Spencer is confident with the games that will be ready to play when the Xbox Series X launches. “I feel good about the lineup that’s there, but I’ve also said I am not going to hold the launch of the console for any one game or any collection of games,” Spencer said in the interview.

Microsoft is yet to reveal the pricing of the Xbox Series X.
