WWDC live blog: Follow along live as Apple’s keynote happens

If you’re an Apple fan, today is the biggest day of the year. The WWDC keynote will set the tone for the next 12 months as Apple gives a sneak peek at the next versions of every OS—iOS< macOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, visionOS, and probably a few AirPods and HomePod updates too.
We’ll be covering all aspects of WWDC the whole day long, including every announcement as it happens, so be sure to keep this page open in your tab bar. And check back regularly to read up on all the new stuff.

We’re just 20 minutes away from the keynote, so pull up a seat and follow along with us. You can also watch the keynote below.
9:40am PT: We’re waiting for Apple’s stream to start. Of note, the online Apple Store hasn’t been taken down so that likely means no hardware will be available for purchase or preorder today.
9:59am: Apple’s keynote stream is live on its site, playing “Assuming” by Queued In.
10am: The keynote stream starts with an F1 promo featuring Craig Federighi and Tim Cook. Craig says, “I’m so gald they put CarPlay in this beast.” Tim is unimpressed.
10:02am: Tim Cook welcomes everyone to WWDC and talks a bit about F1, calling it “one of the most thrilling and high-energy films I’ve ever watched.” WWDC is “an important moment to celebrate our global developer community. … “Today we’ll unveil some exciting new innovations.”
10:03am: Switches to Federighi who jumps into Apple Intelligence. Talks about the features released in iOS 18.
10:05am: We look forward to sharing more about Siri in the coming year.
10:06am: Opening up access to Apple Intelligence’s LLM. Apps can access information on device to summarize and make suggestions.
10:08am: DESIGN! Apple silicon has enabled new experiences and the stage is set for something new. Introduces Alan Dye to show off the new design.

Apple Games site: 9to5Mac has spotted a new domain, https://games.apple.com/, that has gone live as of this morning
Glass-inspred playlists: Apple has released several Apple Music playlists to promote WWDC, and they all have transparent glass-like images
Apple hype post: Apple CEO Tim Cook has posted a picture of Apple Park with a message, “See you soon!”
Siri name change: Ming-Chi Kuo reports that one of the “Key Points to Watch” will be “rebranding Apple Intelligence/Siri,” though it’s unclear whether he has inside information or is speculating
AI battery management limited to iPhone 17 Air: Mark Gurman reports that Apple’s AI battery management feature could be delayed to a fall release and limited to the newest iPhone
Colorful WWDC theme: Inside the gift bag for WWDC attendees are a series of colorful pins, including the clasic Hello greeting and the Apple Intelligence icon
Liquid Glass: The new iOS interface will be branded as “Liquid Glass” and will impact the design of Apple’s next big iPhone launch
New app designs and features: A variety of apps, including Messages, Music, Notes, CarPlay, and Camera to get new features and UI updates
Preview on iPhone: The Preview app from macOS will finally land on iPhone and iPad
Emoji mashup: Mixmoji will let you combine two existing emoji into a new image
Support for original HomePod: Original model will still be supported when the new vision arrives
Opening up Apple Watch: Apple may allow third-party Control Center widgets for the first time
watchOS 26 compatibility: All watches that run watchOS 11 will be compatible with watchOS 26
Apple TV HD lives on: Apple TV HD from over 10 years ago will get the new tvOS 26 update
