Windows 11 Version 22H2 Starts Rolling Out to More Users

Posted October 5, 2022 | Windows | Windows 11

Microsoft has started rolling out Windows 11 version 22H2 to more users. The company announced the news yesterday on its Windows Health Dashboard, and the news comes just two weeks after the first major update for Windows 11 was made available on eligible devices.

“We are entering a new phase of the rollout for Windows 11, version 22H2 and we are increasing its availability to all who check for updates on eligible Windows devices. Note that, if we detect that your device might have an issue, such as an application incompatibility, we might put a safeguard hold in place and not offer the update until that issue is resolved,” the company explained.

Microsoft has currently identified two driver compatibility issues for Windows 11 version 22H2. Devices with certain versions of drivers for Intel Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST) are currently unable to upgrade to Windows 11 version 22H1 or 22H2. Moreover, there’s also an upgrade block in place for devices with printers using Microsoft IPP Class Drivers or Universal Print Class Drivers.

Windows 11 version 22H2 brings improvements to Snap Layouts, Focus Sessions, and it also expands the Amazon Android App Store to more countries. More new features are coming in an update in October including File Explorer tabs and a redesigned Taskbar overflow. If you’re a Windows Insider on the Release Preview channel, you can download this new update and start testing these new features right now.
