Razer took the wraps off its second-generation flagship gaming phone, the Razer Phone 2, last night. The company’s flagship phone aimed at gamers is getting some major upgrades on the inside to offer an even better mobile gaming experience for its customers.

Design wise, the Razer Phone 2 looks much like the original Razer Phone. The company is, however, introducing a new logo on the back of the device that supports its Chroma lighting system and lights up, glowing in up to 16.8 million colors. You can choose to have the logo light up when you get app notifications or have it display different effects.

Razer says the new phone offers up to 30% improvement in performance, powered by the Snapdragon 845 and Adreno 630 GPU. The company is using the Razer vapor chamber cooling system to keep the internals cool under heavy load.

The device still comes with the fantastic 5.7-inch UltraMotion IGZO display, and it continues to be the only phone in the industry to sport a display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The company says it has upgraded the front-facing speakers on the device to be even louder and clearer, as well as support for Dolby Atmos. It still packs the same 4,000mAh battery but it’s been optimized to last up to 10 hours at the 120Hz, as compared to the previous 10-hour battery life at 90Hz refresh rate.

Razer says the company has improved the cameras on the device, with as 12MP wide-angle lens and an additional 12MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom on the back. The company has tweaked the UI of the camera app to work better for one-hand usage, too.

Two other much-needed additions to the Razer Phone 2 include IP67 water resistance and wireless charging support thanks to the new glass back.

Razer’s new phone seems like a pretty decent upgrade from last year’s Razer Phone. The device is $100 more expensive than last year’s Razer Phone, though. It will be available for $799 in Mirror Black and Satin Black variants in the United States, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. Pre-orders are available now.
