Quake Gets a Big Update for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5
Microsoft’s Bethesda announced a major update to the recent Quake remaster that targets next-gen consoles like Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
“We are excited to launch Quake [natively] on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5,” Bethesda’s Joshua Boyle writes. “Anyone who purchased Quake on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 is eligible for a free next-gen upgrade on the same console family. Additionally, free upgrades are available to Xbox Game Pass members who have the Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S.”
Now, Xbox Series X|S and PS5 users can configured Quake to run at 4K at 120 FPS. Xbox users get Xbox Play Anywhere support. And PS5 users get DualSense Adaptive Trigger and integrated speaker support.
If you’ve already installed the Quake remaster on Xbox Series X|S, you will get the native update automatically thanks to Smart Delivery. PS5 users, however, will have to manually upgrade. There’s no cost to this upgrade either way.
Nice!
