OnePlus Expands Nord Family with Two New Models

Posted October 26, 2020 | Android | Mobile | OnePlus | OnePlus Nord | Windows

OnePlus this morning announced two new members of its low-cost Nord smartphone family. At least one of them should be coming to the U.S.

“OnePlus’ mission to share better technology with the world means that we strive to make cutting-edge technology more accessible to a wider range of users,” OnePlus co-founder CEO Pete Lau said in a prepared statement. “The OnePlus Nord N Series represents the next step in our strategy to expand our smartphone offerings to more price points. Now even more users can get a burdenless experience without sacrificing quality.”

There are two new models—the Nord N10 5G and the Nord N100—capping off a wild year for OnePlus, which has released six new smartphones in 2020, up from two in most recent years. Here are a few details about each handset.

Nord N10 5G. Powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 690 chipset, 6 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage, the Nord N10 5G features a 6.49-inch Full HD+ display with a 90 Hz refresh rate, Warp Charge 30T with a 4300 mAh battery, and 5G connectivity. It also comes with a quad-camera system with a 64 MP main lens, a 119-degree ultra-wide lens, a macro lens, and a monochrome lens, plus a 16 MP front-facing selfie camera.

Nord N100. Powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 chipset, 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of storage, the Nord N100 provides an immersive 6.52-inch display, a 5000 mAh battery with 18-watt fast charging, microSD-based storage expansion, stereo speakers, and a 13 MP camera with bokeh and macro lenses.

OnePlus says that the Nord N10 5G will launch in Europe at a starting price of £329, while the Nord N100 will also launch in Europe, but with a starting price of just £179. The firm will reveal its plans for bringing at least some of the Nord lineup to North America “at a future date.”
