It’s the second Tuesday of the month, which means it’s time for Patch Tuesday. Microsoft is releasing a number of new cumulative updates for Windows 10 today, and it’s also rolling out a new update for the upcoming Windows 10 May 2020 update to insiders.

First, let’s talk about the Insider build. Microsoft is releasing build KB4556803 to Insiders in the Slow and Release Preview rings, and it includes some small improvements. The new update mainly fixes a performance issue in Windows Mixed Reality, but that’s about it.

Here’s the changelog;

• We have fixed a performance issue in Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) that prevents it from working correctly for many users.
• We fixed an issue that prevents cleaning tools, such as Disk Cleanup, from removing previously installed updates.
• We have updated the 2020 start date for daylight saving time (DST) in the Kingdom of Morocco. For more information, see KB4557900.
• Security updates to Internet Explorer, the Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Input and Composition, Windows Media, Windows Shell, Microsoft Xbox, Microsoft Edge, Windows Fundamentals, Windows Cryptography, Windows Authentication, Windows Kernel, Windows Virtualization, Windows Update Stack, Windows Core Networking, Internet Information Services, Windows Network Security and Containers, Windows Active Directory, Windows Server, and the Microsoft JET Database Engine.

And now for the cumulative updates, here’s what’s new.

Microsoft is releasing KB4556799 to Windows 10 version 1903 and version 1909, with the update mostly bringing security improvements for the OS. Users of Windows 10 version 1809 are getting KB4551853, which also includes security improvements and fixes. The same applies to Windows version 1803 (KB4556807), version 1709 (KB4556812), version 1703 (KB4556804), version 1607 (KB4556813), and version 1507 (KB4556826).

Almost all of these new updates just includes security fixes, so there isn’t a lot going on here. The only interesting change is the updated 2020 start date for DST for users Morocco. The updates include a couple of known issues as well, so it’s best to check those out before updating your machine.
