Microsoft Announces a Wired Xbox Headset
Microsoft began selling a new Xbox Wireless Headset back in March, and now it has announced a wired version, which it had branded as the Xbox Stereo Headset for some reason. (The other version offers stereo sound too, of course.)
“We are pleased to announce our Xbox Stereo Headset, available for pre-order today,” Microsoft’s Jessica Tsujikawa writes. “With the new Xbox Stereo Headset, we are bringing everything you expect from Xbox products like performance, stand-out features, quality, and accessibility to deliver immersive experiences across console, PC, and mobile devices.”
Well, not everything. The Xbox Stereo Headset is a wired-only device that doesn’t support Bluetooth or Xbox wireless modes too; it would be nice to have a single headset that did it all. But in the good news department, this new headset is also relatively inexpensive at just $59.99, where the Xbox Wireless Headset will set you back $99.99.
According to Microsoft, the Xbox Stereo Headset includes clear microphone performance, high-quality ear cushions, and a volume control dial on the right earcup, and it has ultra-soft large earcups. It also supports Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos, and DTS Headphone: X.
The Xbox Stereo Headset will ship in late September, but you can preorder it now. It works with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PCs with a 3.5-mm headphone jack.
