Well, this doesn’t happen very often: Microsoft 365 Business Premium is now on sale for 25 percent off for small and medium-sized businesses.

“2020 has been a challenging year for small businesses, and we are here to help,” Microsoft’s Kady Dundas writes. “In celebration of Small Business Saturday, we are offering small and medium-sized businesses in the United States a 25 percent discount on up to 25 seats of Microsoft 365 Business Premium so they can chat, call, host online meetings, and collaborate in real-time, with the peace of mind that comes with built-in security features for remote work.”

Microsoft 365 Small Business Premium normally costs $15 per user per month with an annual commitment, so this sale will lower the price to $11.25 per user per month, placing the subscription under the $12.50 per user per month cost of Microsoft 365 Business Standard. The promotional offer is only available to new Microsoft 365 commercial customers between November 23 and November 30, 2020, and only in the United States. It requires an annual commitment and the sale price will apply to the year. Those that need more than 25 seats can purchase additional seats at the normal price.

What’s interesting about this, to me, is that I reported on Microsoft “hibernating” its small business efforts back in April because of the pandemic. “Microsoft will focus on new offers for SMBs that lower the cost of adopting Microsoft 365 and enable remote work, plus ‘relief’ for existing customers to decrease churn,” I wrote at the time. This promotional offer appears to target the first of those focuses.
