Lenovo Announces New Gaming PCs, Accessories

Lenovo today announced a major revamp of its gaming PC offerings with new Legion laptops and towers, IdeaPad laptops, and new gaming mice, keyboards, and displays.

“The latest wave of Lenovo Legion PCs has made landfall, equipping gamers with a smarter class of gear from our unique brand of uncompromised engineering and industrial design, and delivering the edge needed to dominate today’s virtual battle arenas and esports stadiums,” the Lenovo announcement notes. “Representing a leap in the modern gameplay experience, the new Lenovo Legion generation is now fitted with gamer-inspired improvements such as our beloved keyboard technologies now in the Lenovo Legion TrueStrike keyboard; the advanced thermal efficiencies of Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0; battery lifespans that have been extended via Hybrid Mode, Nvidia Advanced Optimus and Rapid Charge Pro14; as well as the world-class immersive displays optimized by Dolby Vision and OverDrive Support with optional 240Hz refresh rates for near-instantaneous in-game responses at under 1ms.”

Yep. There’s a lot to take in here. So here are the highlights:

Legion 7 Laptop. Starting at $1599, the Legion 7 is a 15.6-inch gaming laptop with HDR400 support and a 240 Hz refresh rate, 10th-generation Intel Core processors, NVIDIA GeForce GTX and RTX graphics, and up to 32 GB of RAM.

Legion 5i 15″ Laptop. The Legion 5i 15″ provides 10th-generation Intel Core or AMD Ryzen processors, NVIDIA GeForce GTX and RTX graphics, and a 240 Hz refresh rate, and it starts at just $829.

Legion 5i 17″ Laptop. The Legion 5i 17″ provides a 17.3-inch Full HD display with a 144 Hz refresh rate, 10th-generation Intel Core processors, NVIDIA GeForce GTX and RTX graphics. It starts at $1129.

IdeaPad Gaming 3 15″. The IdeaPad Gaming 3 15″ is an entry-level gaming laptop with a 120 Hz refresh rate, 10th-generation Intel Core processors, and Nvidia GeForce GTX graphics. It starts at $729.

Legion Tower 5i. The Legion Tower 5i is a VR-capable gaming tower with 10th-generation Intel Core processors, Nvidia GeForce GTX graphics, and Coldfront 2.0 Cooling with 30% larger CPU cooler and optional liquid cooling. An AMD version is coming later this year, but the Intel version starts at $799.

All of these laptops, and assorted new mice, keyboards, and displays, will ship in May 2020, Lenovo says.
