Here’s (Almost) Everything You Need to Know About the Galaxy Note 9

Posted August 7, 2018 | Android | Galaxy Note 9 | Hardware | Note 9 | Windows

The official Samsung Galaxy Note 9 launch is just about two days away. So far, we have seen a ton of leaks about the device. We have seen how it looks, what features it will include, and how much it will cost. And today, there’s been another leak which breaks down all the features of the device in detail.

First posted by Redditor Wan997 and German site WinFuture, we nearly have the full spec sheet of the device. It will ship with a 6.4-inch SuperAMOLED device with 2960×1440 pixels, and the “largest Galaxy Note Infinity” display ever. It will come with the Snapdragon 845, plus 128GB and 512GB storage options, and up to 8GB of RAM.

The bigger change is going to be seen on the camera: like the S9+, Samsung is including a 12MP camera setup on the back. The camera will feature Samsung’s variable aperture system, which will allow users to switch between f/1.5 and f/2.4. The camera will also include “revolutionary” features that are capable of intelligently adapting the color settings like white balance, exposure, etc. to ensure it’s “nearly impossible to take a bad shot.”

For the battery, Samsung is pushing the Note 9’s battery to 4,000mAh from the Note 8’s 3,300mAh — a significant upgrade, for sure. Samsung is also including a new S Pen with the Galaxy Note 9. The updated S Pen now includes Bluetooth, letting users control their camera, presentations, and other apps with their S Pen wirelessly — much like the Surface Pen. The company is even upgrading the DeX experience to enable users to connect the device to an external monitor and use  DeX without needing a docking station.

And now, let’s talk about the pricing: the device will be available for £899, with the 512GB model coming in at £1099. As for the color options, Samsung will be selling the Note 9 in Midnight Black, Metallic Copper, Ocean Blue, and Lilac Purple.

That’s around £30 more than the Note 8, though US pricing of the device remains unknown at the moment. Samsung will be giving away free 15,000 Fortnite V-Bucks to everyone who pre-orders the device, or you can also choose a Value Pack (consisting of an AKG headphone, and some other accessories) instead. For an additional $99, you can apparently get both when pre-ordering. Fortnite for Android will launch exclusively on the Galaxy Note 9, so this is kind of a big deal.
