Google is reportedly planning on a major upgrade for the Chromecast Ultra. The company is working on a second-generation Chromecast Ultra that will come with Android TV, reports 9to5Google.

The new device will feature a new design, along with a remote for controlling playback. Codenamed “Sabrina”, it’s not clear exactly when Google plans on launching the new device just yet.

There are some interesting details about the product, though. The device’s new remote will allow users to control the playback, and you will also be able to use Google Assistant via the dedicated microphone on the remote. It’ll also apparently be programmable to your TV, and feature a design similar to the Daydream View remote and the Apple TV remote.

As for the next-gen Chromecast Ultra itself, it will run on a full-fledged Android TV experience, letting users access apps like Netflix, YouTube, etc., right on the device itself. It will support 4K HDR content, and a feature a softer, rounder design that’s more in line with Google’s current hardware design.

It’s not exactly clear when Google plans on launching the new Chromecast Ultra, or how much it will cost, but these upgrades sound really promising.
