Google first introduced the world to its game-streaming service Stadia back in March 2019. At the time, the company promised a number of major features such as YouTube streaming integration, and more.

However, when the company actually launched Stadia, a number of the promised features were missing. And that includes the YouTube streaming feature. It seems like Google is now getting ready to launch some of those major features, according to code found in the Stadia app by 9to5Google.

The code has new references to the free tier of Stadia called Stadia Base. The new free tier will allow users to play the free Stadia games at 1080p/60fps, and Google will also be offering a free month trial for Stadia Pro to those interested. It seems like Google has started implementing the sign-up process for the free tier of Stadia, so the launch could be imminent.

Similarly, there’s also new code referencing the promised YouTube streaming feature. The app now includes code that references the new live streaming options, which will allow the user to stream directly to YouTube from the Stadia app.

Other interesting new changes include a “base player limit”. It seems like Google might limit the number of Stadia users in an area to deal with the high intake of users that might occur due to the free trial for Stadia Pro. Google also seems to be working on enabling the Family Sharing feature, as well as letting users access their game captures on the web.

It’s obviously not clear exactly when these features will be available, but we will let you know when they are actually live.
