In late 2018, Google introduced a massive update to Google Search on mobile. The company launched a number of new features at the time, and one of those features was Collections in Search. Collections is essentially Google’s take on Pinterest, letting users save their search results and help them better organize the things they find on the web.

This week, Google is announcing some major upgrades to Collections to make it more compelling than ever before.

First things first, Collections is getting a new AI-powered feature. For the first time ever, Collections will now suggest you different collections that you can make based on the recent searches you have made. For example, if you have been searching for dinner recipes, it will show you a collection with some of the search results (and more) that you can add onto your own set of collections.

The feature can be completely turned off from Collections in the Google app.

Google is also now going to suggest more related content based on the existing items in a collection in the coming weeks, too.

And last but not least, it is now possible to share your Collections with others — meaning you can now allow others to collaborate on a collection with you or simply share a view-only link to a collection. The feature is rolling out to all users globally starting today.

As for the new suggested collections feature, Google says the company will start rolling it out to users using U.S. English this week, with more regions and languages expected to get the new feature in the future.
