Bing Adds Visual Search to the Windows 10 Search

Posted December 18, 2019 | Bing | Bing + MSN | Bing Visual Search | Windows | Windows 10

Bing is introducing two major new features just in time for the holidays. Most notably, the company is expanding its Visual Search feature to more places in Windows 10.

As you may know, Bing already includes a “search the web with image” feature on the Photos app in Windows 10, where a simple click uploads the image to Bing’s Visual Search feature to help you find similar photos.

And now, that feature is getting integrated to the Windows 10 Search bar. There’s now a new “Search with a screenshot” button at the bottom right of the Search menu. Clicking on it will open up the screenshot tool in Windows 10, where you can capture what you want to search on your screen, and it will upload the screenshot to Bing’s Visual Search and show you similar pictures.

The feature is definitely very useful, and Bing says users are required to be running the Windows 10 May 2019 Update or newer for it to work. I personally don’t have the new feature yet, and that’s because it’s only limited to users in the United States much like most other Bing features. Bing does say that it will roll the feature out to international markets in the future, though.

The search engine is also introducing a more comprehensive flight booking experience this week.
