Apple expects high demand for new ARM MacBooks

Posted November 6, 2020 | Mac

On Tuesday 10 November Apple will hold it’s ‘One More Thing’ event and this time the focus will be on new Macs.

According to a report from the Nikkei Asian Review, Apple expects high demand for the new models that will feature the company’s own processors.

In the coming quarter, 2.5 million models of the new MacBooks will be produced with Apple Silicon (Apple’s name for its home made processors based on ARM), which corresponds to 20 percent of total MacBook sales in 2019.

Apple will continue to produce some models using Intel processors throughout the two year transition period. Read: Should I buy an Intel Mac.

We can expect even more Mac models to be equipped with Apple processors in the spring – including desktop Macs such as a new iMac.

Apple is expected to introduce a 13in MacBook Pro and a new MacBook Air at the 10 November event.
