AMD Launches Ryzen 3000XT Processors
Today, AMD announced its performance-focused Ryzen 9 3900XT, Ryzen 7 3800XT, and Ryzen 5 3600XT processors for gamers and power users.
“At AMD, we are committed to listening closely to our customers and the enthusiast community to deliver leadership products,” AMD senior vice president and general manager Saeid Moshkelani said in a prepared statement. “With AMD Ryzen 3000XT processors, we’re making additional optimizations to the 7 nm manufacturing process to deliver industry-leading single-thread performance and more choice and flexibility for enthusiasts.”
The three new chipsets will be available publicly on July 7, and each is value-priced at $249 (Ryzen 5 3600XT), $339 (Ryzen 7 3800XT), and $499 (Ryzen 9 3900XT), respectively. They offer 6, 8, and 12 cores across the product family and are desktop-class chips with accordingly high power utilization of 95- to 105-watts.
AMD claims that the new chips are about 4 percent more powerful than their predecessors and up to 40 percent more powerful than the (Intel) competition. The AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT retail box processors include a Wraith Spire cooler, while enthusiasts can choose their own cooler for the other chips.
