Google had a monster quarter of its own with its parent company reporting a net income of $18.5 billion on revenues of $61.9 billion for the prior quarter. Both are massive gains—62 percent and 37.6 percent, respectively—over the same quarter one year ago.

“Our strong second quarter revenues of $61.9 billion reflect elevated consumer online activity and broad-based strength in advertiser spend,” Google and Alphabet CFO Ruth Porat said. “Again, we benefited from excellent execution across the board by our teams.”

Google Services delivered $57 billion in revenues, up from $35 billion in the year-ago quarter. Of that, Google Search contributed $36 billion in revenues (up from $21 billion a year ago), while YouTube added $7 billion in revenues. Google Cloud hit $4.6 billion in revenues, and Alphabet’s “other bets” delivered $192 million in revenues.

What everyone wants to know, of course, is how much advertising contributed to Google’s bottom line. Advertising delivered $50 billion in revenues, so it contributed 81 percent of Alphabet’s total revenues.
