Microsoft to Release ‘Project Scorpio’ Edition of Xbox One X
This weekend, Microsoft is headed to GamesCom where they will announce a few more detail about the Xbox One X console. The company will say when the console will be available for pre-order and it looks like they may have limited edition available for early adopters.
Posted up on Twitter by @evleaks, he has uncovered the console and the box of a Project Scorpio edition of the Xbox One X. An insider also sent me a close-up of the controller and this is all likely to be branded under the “for the gamers” series of hardware.

When launching a new console, Microsoft likes to brand these first edition devices. They did something similar with the release of the Xbox One with the Xbox One Day One Edition and this appears to be following that path.

I don’t expect there to be much else different with this device other than the simple branding. The company may give it more storage to reward early adopters but they won’t boost the CPU speed or add more RAM.
Microsoft will be holding a press conference on Sunday and I am hopeful that they will be announcing more titles that will be part of the launch event for the console. The heavily anticpated game, Crackdown 3, has been delayed yet again and will not arrive until 2018 at the earliest.
